GCC Bin Strike

Refuse strikes and disruption to bulk waste collection

We need your help!

As you may be aware, Glasgow City Council bin collection and street cleaners are taking strike action which is scheduled to last for eight days.

This means that your bins will not be emptied by the council this week and for this reason we will not be placing them out in the streets for collection.

The industrial action also means that we will be unable to dispose of bulk items and fly tipping safely in the usual way and we may not be able to remove items during this period.

Please could we ask that you do not put out any items of bulk rubbish outside your property as we will not be able to dispose of it.

This is particularly important in the run up to 5th November when dumped items can be used to start and spread fires.

We will of course do our best to keep our neighbourhood as clean and tidy as possible during this period but please help us by keeping large items in your house and using your recycling bins as much as possible to avoid household waste building up.
