Pineview Houisng Association has signed the CiH Make a Stand Pledge, commiting to take action to support people experiencing domestic abuse.
The Make a Stand campaign was launced by then-CiH president Alison Inman in June 2018, appealing to tackle domestic abuse. The pledge has been developed by CiH alongside their 2018-19 presidential charity Women's Aid to increase awareness and accountability of domestic abuse across the UK.
Millions of people experience domestic abuse every year, with two women killed each week by their partner or ex-partner. Housing Organisations provide housing and employment to many thousands of people affected by domestic abuse. CiH believe that the housing sector must do more on this issue, in the words of Alison Inman these are "our homes, our people and this is our problem".
Pineview have signed the Make A Stand pledge, promising to make four focused, but easily deliverable commitments to support those affected by domestic abuse. Each of these four commitments will be in place by September 2019.
