Annual Assurance Consultation (August 2026)
Every year, all Registered Social Landlords in Scotland must submit an Annual Assurance Statement to the Scottish Housing Regulator.
This statement is a formal declaration from our Committee of Management (Governing Body) to say whether or not Pineview:
- are meeting all the regulatory requirements set out by the Regulator.
- are complying with the law (like health and safety, tenant engagement, financial management).
- have the right systems in place to govern the association and deliver good services.
The Scottish Housing Regulator uses this statement, as part of their risk assessment process, to ensure landlords are well-run and are providing safe, high-quality services.
The process of assessing compliance has to be continuous and the Committee of Management have to consider their assurance on an ongoing basis and highlight any areas of concern. This ongoing assurance consideration culminates in the product of the Annual Assurance Statement, which requires to be submitted to the Scottish Housing Regulator every year, by 31 October.
Pineview is committed to being an open and transparent organisation, and so although there is no specific legal requirement to carry out a consultation on the content of our statement, we think it is good practice to raise awareness with our tenants service users and to ask for feedback.
Our Customer Forum considered the annual assurance process at their meeting of 12.08.2026. They reviewed the purpose of the annual assurance process, the Scottish Housing Regulators risk assessments and thematic reviews, and considered Pineview’s position in respect of these. The Customer Forum also considered a draft statement for 2026. The Customer Forum gave positive feedback and advised that they were assured with the services that Pineview provide, and the commitment to tenant and resident safety. The feedback from the Customer Forum will be considered at the Committee of Management meeting of 19.08.2026.
The Committee of Management will consider their Annual Assurance Statement at the Committee of Management meeting of 19.08.2026. The resultant draft Annual Assurance Statement will be published to offer further opportunities for tenants and service users to provide feedback. Any feedback will be considered by the Committee of Management at their meeting of 23.09.2026 and the AAS finalised for submission to the Scottish Housing Regulator.
